Dear Sophia,

The other night while feeding you, you so graciously managed to get poop all over my pants, my top, and multiple spots on the bed. I was fearing this actually. I had been waiting for a poopy diaper for days and knew that when it came it would be a messy one. I was hoping it wouldn't come in the middle of the night like it did though. As disgusting as it was though, it gave me a good laugh.

You are are cute Soph. You make me so so so so happy. I love you so much! Never forget that. XOXO

Mom

Dear Sophia,

I often look at you and think things like:

I can't wait to see you crawl.
The day when you start to talk will be so fun.
I can't wait to see your teeth come in.
You're going to look so cute when you start to walk.
I'm excited for the day I get to feed you finger foods.

And while I think of the things of the future and how excited I am for them, I sometimes forget how much I love this season of life we are in. One day I am going to look back and miss the stage of life you are in and wish I could go back. One day I'll look back and miss:

Your frizzy bird hair that drys standing straight up when I wash it.
Your gummy smile with no teeth.
The look you get in your eyes when you are going to smile.
Your itty bitty newborn diapers.
Your sad face. It's the most heartbreaking thing I have ever seen but so cute at the same time.
The "stinky" smell you get from my breast milk.
The way you refuse to suck on anything and the way you put your fist up to your mouth and lick it instead of suck.
The dark, slate color of your eyes because they have yet to change.
The way you will imitate people when they stick out their tongue.
Your kisses. I realize I won't always be able to give you a giant kiss on your mouth.
The way you curl up in the fetal position when you lay on my chest.
How when you want to laugh, you breath really fast through your nose.
Sitting you on my stomach and making you do dance moves because you can't control your limbs yet.
Your cry. It won't always be that high pitched squeak. You won't always sound like a squeaky toy.
The way you prefer to sleep in our bed over your own.

So for now I'm going to enjoy those things and live in the moment because one day those will be things of the past and I will never be able to get them back. I hope you know how much I love you. Never forget it. XOXO

Mom

Dear Sophia,

On Saturday your aunt Whitney and cousin June flew in for your blessing. You are so loved. You and June instantly loved each other. I hope that you two always remain good friends. Here are a few pictures. (Don't pay attention to my scary face.)

We also blessed you in my parents ward yesterday. You looked so pretty and sat through sacrament without a single peep. You are such a good girl. Your dad blessed you and both your grandpas were in the circle as well as your uncle Austin, Christian, Bart, and Adam. I don't think I'm forgetting anyone. I hope not. Here are a few more pictures of your special day.

(I love this cry face. I can't help it.)

I hope you enjoy these pictures one day.I sure love you! I hope you never forget that. XOXO

Dear Sophia,

My highlight of the day came early this morning. We took a little nap together and I couldn't help but take a picture. You looked so cute sleeping on my side of the bed under all our blankets. I loved watching you as you slept.

Also, check out this smile. It couldn't get any cuter.

I just had to share these with you. I hope you love them as much as I do. I love you so much. Never forget it. XOXO

Dear Sophia,

I wanted to mention a few random things that have been on my mind today.

1. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! I love that face of yours. Especially those pretty eyes. I hope you never lose sight of that.

2. Today you have been such a good girl. I am so lucky to have a baby that is so easy to take care of and one that I actually look forward ti taking care of.

3. At the top of my "list of favorites" comes our snuggles, naps together, and holding you.

4. Today you looked like such a big girl in your shirt and big girl stretchy pants. I couldn't stop looking at you. Again, you are beautiful!

5. Let me share some lyrics I came across today that couldn't be any more true.

"...Along comes a baby girl
And suddenly my little world
Just got a whole lot bigger, yes it did
And people that I barely knew
They love me cause I’m part of you..."

6. I LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU KNOW! Please never forget that. XOXO

Love,
Mom

Dear Sophia,

I hope that one day you are able to look back at this website with a flood of memories and feelings of happiness and love. I hope that you are able to see pictures of your life, words of advice, notes, and adventures our family has had together, and realize that you are loved more than you will ever realize. That is my hope.

I love you so much, Sophia. Don't you ever forget it. XOXO
